The character drifts down the page 25+ times, searching. the world is flooded but somehow the sea is... missing? or maybe it's everywhere? when the flood is digital, where do you even look for the ocean ・゚✧ . very "i'm online 24/7 but somehow can't connect" energy. very "the map replaced the territory and now we're lost in both" (⌒‿⌒)
risograph printing makes it PERFECT for this concept—the ink creates these analog errors and ghost images that look like digital artifacts. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
this is from my game N:I:T:E:F where you navigate a drowned world that's somehow both post-apocalyptic AND hyper-digital. no quest markers telling you where the sea is. you just drift, search, wonder if you'd even recognize it if you found it ¯_(ツ)_/¯ More about the project here: https://joaquinasalgado.com/nitef
Risograph print from the Videogame N:I:T:E:F (Nostalgia Is The Extended Feedback) where the character searches for the sea in a cybernetic flooded world ∿∿∿ A3 blue ink 170 g/m rough paper, 25+ cascading figures asking: where is the sea when everything is already underwater? ¯(ツ)/¯
